Parliament wants ICT Tribunal Constituted

The Parliamentary Committee on Information and Communication
Technology has tasked the Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Nyombi Thembo to explain why the government has not established the ICT Tribunal to handle complaints on theft of mobile money.

Members of Parliament were concerned that even though Ugandans are robbed of money estimated at Shs 13 trillion annually through the mobile money service the Ministry of ICT has done nothing to establish a tribunal to provide justice to the aggrieved parties.

But in defence, the Minister said the ICT Ministry had written to the Judicial Service Commission asking the commission to submit names of two judges who will constitute the tribunal if approved by the President of Uganda
