FDC youth arrested over by-passing public order management law

Police has arrested five Kampala FDC youth who were delivering a petition to the former FDC bosses at Katonga offices. According to police they are to be charged with counts of by-passing the public order management law as they staged an illegal demonstration according to police.

ASP Michael Musani, the DPC central police station Kampala, noted that any person wishing to stage a demonstration or rally in any area has to seek permission from the area police which the group did not do and now are locked up at CPS. The group had earlier addressed a news conference at the party offices for Kampala where they unveiled a massive plan to support former FDC party boss, Kizza Besigye to run for presidency again.

Led by Nakawa FDC secretary for youth, Mayanja Ronald and Buwembo Habibu, the youth also confirmed to the press that they had raised over UGX.15 million for Dr. Besigye which will support him as he traverses the country canvassing for votes. They say that it’s only Besigye who can give H.E. Museveni a good run for his money in this election.
