Judiciary to train lawyers on ethics and advocate

The Uganda Law Society in conjunction with the Justice Law and Order Sector (JLOS) and Uganda’s judiciary have invited Ugandan lawyers and other interested stakeholders to train them ‘ethics and advocate’ in a one day workshop due to take place on the 20th of July 2010.

The instructors at the workshop will include senior lawyers in town, senior law academicians, the law council, Uganda Law Society and representatives from the judiciary.

The press statement from the organizers today says the venue for the workshop is Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala. The registration fee per participant will be 100,000 shillings.

The workshop is intended to engage participants on: the lawyer as a member of a noble profession, professional ethics and etiquette, the role of law council in regulating the profession, discipline and the maintenance of profession ethics among others.
