Hundreds of passengers in Kampala are stranded in heavy traffic jam following the closer of a section of Gayaza road from Karerwe trading centre to Zirobwe market in Kampala.

The Corporate communications officer of Uganda National Roads Authority, Dan Alinange says the road has been closed for a month from today to speed up construction works on the road.  

The Traffic police have diverted vehicles through the Northern Bypass but the traffic jam has remained so much in Kampala.

Alinange says once the road from Kalerwe to Zirobwe is complete it will ease the problem of traffic jam in Kampala.
