Uganda Agriculture Minister, Hope Mwesigye
The Minister of Uganda for Agriculture, Hope Mwesigye has asked Ugandans to utilize weather information in order to plan for proper agricultural production.
Mwesigye says recently a wave of food shortages hit different parts of Uganda, especially north and Eastern because some farmers had not planted crops on time. The minister was speaking to journalists at Uganda Media Centre in Kampala today.
She urges farmers this time not to ignore weather information and start planting crops immediately as soon as they seen rain.
The Minister further advises Ugandans to begin taking weather information seriously for proper planning in agricultural sector. Mwesigye says her ministry is calling upon all farmers in the country to produce more food.
