NRM MPs want more time to review Besigye violent arrest video

MPs from the ruling National Resistance Movement party have asked the speaker of parliament Edward Sekandi to allow them time again on Friday to view the footage of the arrest of Besigye.

This was after the opposition chief whip Wadri Kasiano asked Sekandi to allow them show a clip of two minutes that was missing in the footage  they showed the house yesterday.

Kasiano said the missing clip contained the hooded man who threw a hammer in Besigye’s car. The NRM mps refused urging that they were not sure whether the opposition had not doctored the clip.

The prime minister Apollo Nsibambi then suggested that the whole footage of 6 hours of Besigyes arrest right away from kasangati be shown to the house again.

The mps will resolve whether the officers involved in the brutal arrest be investigated and action taken after viewing the footage again.
