Entebbe Airport workers on demonstration

The Entebbe airport cleaners waged a sit down strike on May 16, over what they called peanut salaries and delayed payments.

The workers claim their employer, the Guardian Services Ltd (GSL) a cleaning company pays them only 150,000 before taxes which they say is nominal salary in relation to the current economic crisis.

The workers have decided not to resume the work until their salaries are increased with the consideration of the current inflation.

The GSL workers’ demonstrators have  joined other demonstrators in Uganda like the walk to work protesters and the Rynolds Construction Company workers who laid down the tools over the same reason of low payment and harassment by their bosses at work.
