Churches risk closure over making noise

Born again churches risk being closed because of excessive noise. Police have already fined the senior pastor of Masaka prayer palace 50000 shillings for letting his followers to make noise during night prayers.

This comes after the residents sued the church for using loud speakers at night when people are a sleep something that contravenes the environmental and noise pollution.

Masaka municipality town clerk Benon Byaryantuma says the owners of born again churches have failed to set rules on how to run their churches without contravening other residents.

The Environment Act has regulations that prohibit environmental pollution like making noise in none secluded places like industrial areas.
