Nasser Sebagala hands over to Erias Lukwago, declines to handover house

The former mayor of Kampala City Council (KCC), Hajj Nasser Ntege Sebagala has handed over the tools of power to his successor, Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago on June 6.

The handover function was presided over by the Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) Executive Director, Jennifer Semakula Musisi.

Sebagala has handed over after his successor’s threats to sue him over illegal occupation of the public office.

Sebagala failed to turn up for the handover on June 2 after preparations at the Kampala City Council Authority headquarters for the function.

Sebagala has however declined to surrender the house on plot 1 Sezibwa road in Kampala. He says that the outgoing council and President Museveni gave the house to him as an appreciation for the services he has rendered to KCC.

Sebagala has insisted he will not leave the house saying that the aggrieved should go to court to challenge him.

The Executive Director, Semakula  says that she has not seen documents indicating that the house was give away.
