President Museveni appeals to religious leaders to promote income generating activities

The president of the republic of Uganda General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has hailed religious institutions for their contribution in the Implementation of governments programs of Fighting poverty and Infrastructure development.

Officiating as chief guest during the Fort Portal diocese Golden Jubilee House Fundraising at St. Mary’s seminary grounds in Virika Fort Portal town, president Museveni observed that religious institutions greatly in the establishment of schools, hospitals and banking institutions which he says have contributed towards the growth of the country’s economy.

Museveni appealed to religious institutions to cooperate with government to encourage Ugandans to kick start income generating projects to help them increase their household income.

He however warned religious leaders not to be diverted from their major role of spreading gospel of Jesus Christ for the betterment of the God’s Kingdom. Museveni contributed 100 million shillings towards the completion of the Golden Jubilee house.
