President Museveni asks churches to avoid fundraisings

President Museveni has asked the churches in Uganda to avoid organizing fundraisings for the purpose of funding the projects at churches.

While talking to the Christians in Rukungiri at the consecration of Rt. Rev. Patrick Tugume as the North Kigezi diocese Bishop, the President urged the Christians to set income generating projects.

Museveni says that church leaders should attach a specific amount of money to each Christian to raise the money required for the church projects than resorting to politicians at fundraisings.

The President also asks the church leaders to avoid dictatorship urging them to behave like Jesus Christ who washed the feet of his followers than the reverse.

On the other hand, the Church of Uganda Archbishop, Luke Orombi asks the President to put tough disciplinary measures against corrupt officials.

Orombi adds that much of the public resources benefit individual government officials than the general citizens.
