Government gives 10 billion to Luwero Rwenzori development program

President Yoweri Museveni has directed minister of Luwero affairs to use the 10 billion shillings under the Luwero Rwenzori development program to focus on improving household income

The president was responding to a request by the minister of luwero triangle Rose Namayanja that government considers increasing vote to private projects in 29 districts since it had a lot to work including constructing health centres and roads.

He said the problem in Uganda is not just food shortage but low technology to process and store food. President Yoweri Museveni said in Bushenyi district, Banana project has been set up and new initiatives of developing appropriate technology to turn Banana into flour so that they can be preserved for a long period of time.

He commended the people of Masaka for having voted the NRM into power. Earlier war veterans had called upon government to establish stores for Ugandans farmers to store the produce and sell the produce in times of high food prices.

The national chairperson war veteran association Hajj Adirisa Sedumba said currently farmers are experiencing problems of selling produce because of middle men who buy farmers produce cheaply and sell them expensively.

He also called upon parliament to consider enacting a law that will deal with drug addicts. Sedumbe said china had instituted the death penalty for drug addicts saying it government handles issues of drug addicts Uganda is in trouble.

He also reported the minister of lands and housing needs to a gently address the problem of land tittles.
