Forum for Democratic Change boss Dr. Kiiza Besigye says 2011/2012 budget is good but impractical

 

The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) President, Dr. Kiiza Besigye has commended the government for the fairly good 2011/2012 budget.

Talking to the journalists at his office in Najjanankubi, Kampala, Dr. Besigye said that the government has tried to clutch at the issues opposition parties have been asking the government to do but the budget still has many loopholes.

He says that for the governments where corruption is considered evil, the 2011/2012 budget would be a good start but for the case of Uganda only a quarter of the budget will be beneficial and the rest will be defrauded.

Besigye says that the designers of the budget only forgot that petrol and diesel which were not subsidized are the driving forces of the economy.

He said that for them on opposition, they will continue putting pressure on government to come out with good plans for the citizens.

Dr. Besigye has been the most prominent figure in the walk to work protests against the increasing prices of commodities which were (protests) at the highest in April.
