Kiboko Enterprizes Limited a private Company that distributes Electronics has petitioned the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga with counterfeit goods like pampers, Sanitary pads , Phllips flat irons, against the rampant counterfeit Goods on the Market on the country.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Trade and industry Amelia Kyambadde, Uganda Bureau of Standard officials and Minstry of Justice, constitutional Affairs and the Chairperson of Parliamentary Finance Committee Kibale MP Frank Tumwebaze at Paliament.

The Minister of trade and Industry Amelia Kyambadde says her ministry is going to institute a 20 man committee from all the sector government parastetals to investigate the counterfeit goods that enter in the country.

She adds that the government in three months time it will also purchase a counterfeit detecting machine in conjunction with all these sectors Uganda Revenue Authority.

Kyambadde says this machine will greatly help in countering counterfeit goods at all border posts and protect genuine businesses as well as the public from counterfeits.
