USAID donates one million exercise books

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is the United States Federal Government agency responsible for administering civilian foreign aid.

It was started in 1961 by US President John F. Kennedy as an executive order to implement development assistance programs in Africa, Asia, Latin America andAsiaamong other parts of the world.

USAID also seeks to extend a hand to people in poor countries likeUganda,Kenya,Zimbabwe, Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo Brazzaville, Angola, Southern Sudan,Tanzania,Mozambique, andLesothoamong others.

In Uganda USAID has been contributing to Uganda’s education and economic development as well as providing humanitarian assistance in support of the foreign policy goals of the United States of America.

As part of its development policies and goals, USAID in partnership with Inter-Religious Council of Uganda has donated exercise books worth millions of Uganda shillings to the following schools inKampala and Wakiso district: Joyce World Day Care and Kindergarten, Modern Kindergarten, Namasuba UMEA, Masajja UMEA, St. Elizabeth among others. This donation is expected to benefit over 400,000 pupils.
