Universities in Norway to fight mental illness in Uganda

Universities in Norway led by Oslo have promised to help Uganda to fight mental illness among her citizens. Recent psychological studies indicate that mental illness in Uganda is higher than the way it was 10 years back.

The university of Oslo and Bahr el Ghazal have also come out to help Uganda to eradicate nodding disease.

Research further indicates that mental illness in Ugandais high among youth, children and soldiers. The head of research at the University of Oslo, Las Lien says that the problem results from poor health care and it might increase   if nothing is done to eradicate the problem.

Many women have gone insane especially in northern Uganda due to rape, sexual violence, poverty, depression, defilement, losing dear ones, poor feeding, use of drugs and poor sleeping among other factors.
