NRM must win Bukoto South parliamentary by elections, Museveni directs electoral commission

President Museveni has vowed that his ruling political party, NRM will win the Bukoto South parliamentary by elections on July 12th at all costs. Museveni says that the claims that the NRM flag-bearer in the race Alintuma Nsambu insulted Kabaka Ronald Mutebi and influenced the closure of CBS radio station are false and should not be a basis to deny Nsambu parliamentary election victory.

Museveni says that NRM has to win the Bukoto South Parliamentary elections because most of the people in Lwengo where the constituency is located are members of the ruling party. The president even wondered where DP would get poling agents from an area where it has no support. Nsambu is contesting against DP’s Mathias Nsubuga. The seat fell vacant after Muyanja Mbabaali was thrown out of Parliament over scanty academic qualifications.

However Nsambu is fighting allegations that he insulted the Kabaka of Buganda, and that Nsambu does not hail from Bukoto South despite having a home there.
