Parliament in trouble of Aida Nantaba approval as minister

A section of MPs is accusing the appointments committee of reportedly going against its rules of procedure.

This followed the approval of Aida Nantaba’s appointment as state minister for lands

The mps including Alice Alaso, Odonga Otoo, Betty Nambooze and Isaia Sasaga  said this was in contravention of a number of provisions in the rules of procedure .

They among other things claim the nominee was approved without the required quorum and also was not on the day’s agenda.

They have now resolved to write to the speaker Rebecca Kadaga asking that the matter be discussed before the whole house.

They have also threatened to go to court if nothing is done.
