Police storms Nkumba University

Police swung into action on Friday and stormed Nkumba University bringing all the work at the institution of higher learning to a stand still.

The police stormed the university because over 100 opposition youth were attending a human rights dialogue at Nkumba University at the invitation of human rights network-Uganda (hurinet-u).

The police force was put at task to monitor the movements of these opposition youth and the participants were very much worried of the gross human rights abuse against the very people the police are supposed to protect.

The tutors at the seminar wondered how the police force has turned out to be a Uganda ruling party police which president Museveni’s government uses to incapacitate its political competitors.
