parliament calls for intervention into increasing cases of Hepatatis B.

Parliament has passed a motion demanding for government’s intervention
into the ever increasing cases of Hepatitis B the country.
While moving the motion Kyenjojo district woman mp Linda Timbigamba
said that the hepatitis B virus is very serious to the extent that its
infection rate is even more than that of HIV virus.
She said that government should follow an example of other country and
conduct a vaccination campaign against the virus.
She also called for the development of a comprehensive hepatitis B
policy and ensure that its implemented fully.
Parliament however gave a time frame of three months to government to
report to parliament on the extent it will have gone in implementing
the resolutions in the motion.
