Rules and displine committee kicks off probing MP kipoi’s absence in parliament absence in parliament.

The rules, discipline and privileges committee of parliament chaired by Fox Odoi have today started another investigation into the conduct of Bubulo west mp Tonny kipoi.

The first one to appear before the committee was the Government Chief whip Kasule Lumumba, who appeared on behalf of the NRM Party which this mp subscribes too.

Appearing before the committee to explain the where about of Kipoi, kasule suggested that the rules of procedure of parliament be amended, to have the speaker first consult the party whips before she or he grants leave to any member.

Kasule says right now the constitution gives powers to the speaker to grant leave to any member for certain reasons but this has caused confusion because some members leave the house without the knowledge of the party whips.

The speaker kadaga directed the rules committee to investigate kipoi’s conduct after the mp missed more than 15 sittings consecutively without her permission.
