Opposition MPs are petitioning the Uganda law society over the conduct of the attorney general peter Nyombi.

The legislators led by kyadondo east MP SSemujju Nganda wants the law society to take disciplinary action against Nyombi for not only misadvising the Government but also for attacking the judge of the high court Yasin Nyanzi.

The Petitioners say as Members of Parliament are alarmed by the persistent informal and formal attacks against the High Court Judge Justice Yasin Nyanzi and the Judicially in General by Agents of State lead by the Learned Attorney General Peter Nyombi.

The mps who include Betty Nambozee, Mathias Mpuga , Muwanga Kivumbi, Ken Lukyamuzi,Nabukenya Brenda,Fuggaroo Kaps and Gerald Karuhanga among others want the law society to invoke the society’s rules and suspend indefinitely the Attorney General Peter Nyombi for undermining and persistently harassing Justice Yasin Nyanzi for an order he issued restraining government from impeaching the Lord Mayor Eriasi Lukwago.

SSemujju says they have also written to the speaker kadaga asking her to set up a select committee to investigate the misleading Legal opinion given by the Attorney General that has left the Country without a substantive Chief Justice and his Deputy for nearly a year now. track
