Institute invented a robot capable of detecting and detonating explosives

The fight against terrorism has received a boast after students at Nakawa Vocational Training Institute invented a robot capable of among other things detecting and detonating explosives like bombs.

According to the institute’s deputy principal Omoo Francis, the institute can help police in fighting terrorism using this machine.

He explains that instead of police using personnel to send them to detonate bombs, it can seek such services from Nakawa where robots can be used to handle that matter without causing injury to anyone.

He says if the IGP (Kaihura) asks them to make anti-terrorism equipment, they are ready to do them from Nakawa in addition to helping training police in other services like electrical installation, computer, mechanic etc..

This invention left the visiting Japanese team led by JICA [Japan International Cooperation Agency] president prof. Akihiko Tanaka and education officials led by sector minister Maj. Jessica Alupo who commended the institute for this technological advancement.

Meanwhile, education and sports minister Maj. Jessica Alupo commended the Japanese for the continued support to this institute and said efrots are underay by the ministry to elevate this institute to a college level.
