Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago is demanding an apology from his deputy Sulaiman Kidandala for meeting Inspector General of Police, Kale Kayihura.

Lukwago says he was shocked at the leaked recordings of Kidandala meeting Gen. Kale Kayihura. Lukwago says he has summoned Kidandala to explain himself why he met Kayihura among all people in Uganda government.

The 5 minutes leaked tape recording indicts that Kidandala met Kayihura to discuss the fate of the mayor at City hall. In the recording, a voice sounding alike to that of Kidandala, is heard discussing the Lord Mayor Lukwago’s relationship with opposition stalwart Dr. Kiiza Besigye. In the video Kidandala goes on to tell Kayihura that Lukwago was suffering from arrivism and clashes between him and the KCCA executive director, Jennifer Musisi. Kidandala also told police boss that he had suggested to the Lord Mayor that they ignore Besigye from Kampala to avoid state attention.
