Turkish doctors visit Uganda

 

The Rector of the Islamic University in Uganda Dr. Ahmad Sengendo together with a team of Turkish Doctors and Senior University Officials has paid a call to the office of the Mufti of Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje.

Dr. Sengendo used the opportunity to brief the Mufti about the impending establishment of a medical school and hospital with support from Doctors Worldwide Turkey 2004.

The delegation from Doctors Worldwide Turkey 2004 comprised of Prof. Alinglu Orhan, Dr. Seliman Azizoglu and Dr. Metin Tunc.

Dr. Sengendo was accompanied by the IUIU Vice Rector Dr. Muhammad Mpezamihiigo, the Director IUIU Kampala Campus Dr. Adnan Ali Adikata, the University Engineer Dauda Ssemuju (Eng.) and the IUIU Public Relations Officer Mr. Shaban Lukoya. In his remarks, the Mufti expressed his support for the medical school and commended Dr. Sengendo for championing the establishment of new and relevant programs at the university. He said that at UMSC, health is a priority noting that there are programs specifically dedicated to health. “We have a hospital, a medical bureau, the population program and the UNICEF program” said the Mufti adding that under these programs, there are several activities like the Islamic Health days, free medical checkups and treatment every Friday at the UMSC Headquarters and other areas and immunization days.
