museveni warns security over Rwenzori killings

NRM chairman Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday during the party caucus meeting held at state House Entebbe questioned the work of security agencies to why they did not bring the information on Kasese, Bundibugyo and Nkoroko conflicts in time.
He said that if the security tracked information about these conflicts in time, all these wouldn’t have happened.
Mr Museveni assured members that UPDF and police have already arrested the attackers in Kasese adding that further investigations are going to be continued.
He added that the traditional clashes are un necessary as entrenched in the constition.He also said that the Chauvinistic attitude of traditional leaders is unacceptable and must stop immediately.
The source who attended the caucus meeting which ended at night told our reporter that Mr Museveni was relatively tough while addressing members and he took them into the historical background of the cultural leadership of Rwenzori region.
The death toll has risen to over 90 in Rwenzori clashes and over 500 people arrested.
Meanwhile Busongora North MP William Nzonghu questioned to why government deployed security in issues of tribes as allegedly reported.
