KCCA’s Musisi, Statehouse, mismanages money meant to work on roads

In this news story today we analyse the KCCA budget part by part in relation to the other many issues. KCCA stands for Kampala Capital City Authority.

In KCC before it became KCCA, its budget of 2010/2011 was 45 billion shillings and only 15 billion shillings was spent on roads.

When KCCA came into force, is budget was trippled and in 2011/2012 the same budget was 145 billion shillings and 45 billion shillings was allocated to roads.

The 2012/2013 KCCA budget was 168 billion shillings and 46 billion shillings was allocated to roads. The 2013/2014 budget which Kampala Minister Frank Tumwebaze took to Parliament and was approved was 200 billion shillings. But even here only 88 billion shillings were sent to roads.

The current KCCA budget which the city Director Jenifer Musisi wants to pass is 268 billion shillings of which 105 billion shillings are for roads.

But if we are to ask are the roads there worth those big sums of money KCCA.  Some roads in Kampala like Bukoto-Kisaasi are funded by World Bank.
