Justice Benjamin Odoki is now gone. Hon Lady Justice Bbosa Solome and Honorable Justice Eldad Mwangushya agreed on Monday with the judgment of Honorable Lady Justice Lilian Ekirikubinza declaring the reappointment of Odoki as Chief Justice of Uganda null and void.

The judges castigated the Attorney General, Nyombi Peter for incompetence and misadvising the president. We now wait for Justice Kasule and Apio Aweri.

However Ugandans have already won the case since it is already 3:2. The case against Justice Benjamin Odoki was sponsored by MP Gerald Karuhanga. Karuhanga’s important Constitutional petition has now turned into a locus clascus case on constitutional powers of the president and giving Ugandans the opportunity to argue it in courts of law. Sources at State House have told us that president Museveni is displeased with the court’s decision. Museveni is yet to give his official possition on the court ruling.
