Police arrests youth for carying coffin

 

Police on Monday arrested youths who were protesting against the rampant unemployment and corruption in Uganda on Speke Road.

These Uganda youths who were carrying a coffin as a sign of mourning were detained at Central Police Station (CPS) in Kampala and they have been charged with holding illegal assembly.

The Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango says the youths group code named ‘Jobless Brotherhood’ hatched a plan to protest in Kampala.

Onyango says police arrested the youths and it was interrogating them. The youths entered Kampala at 7am and started their demonstration at Speke Road with intention of proceeding to the City Square. But they were intercepted by a heavy deployment of police. These youths were all arrested. The police retrieved the coffin they were carrying, banners and placards.
