MP Amuriat demand IGP boss General Kaihura to quit police

The member of parliament for kumi county in kumi district Patrick Amuriat Oboi has criticized the inspector general of police General Kale kaiyuhura for demanding for his contract to be renewed.
This came as the IGP kale kaiyihura pleaded to police Authority to renew his contract which is expiring on 10th November this year.
Amuriat told journalists at parliament that General Kaihura should quit the IGP post and be replaced by another person accusing him of militarizing the police in his tenure of office.
He accused General Kaihura of being the NRM party cadre who cannot be impartial to groups of people with different thinking opinion.

He said that kaihura changed the civilian police which was built by the current Army commander Katumba Wamala to a militaristic force which does not respect Human rights.

He added that General Kayihura should be taken back to the Army because all his tactics belong to the Army.

He criticized kaihura for allowing the demoting and removing ranks of police officers in public which embarrassed the officers.
He said that he wants an impartial police boss who can salute the next president if there is a change of government not a person like kaihura who shows partisan in executing his duties.
Reports indicate that General kaihura wrote to o Authority in July this year begging for extension of his term of office so as he can build specialized capacities in criminal intelligence and investigation especially equipping and expanding new forensic laboratory, , building a field police force unit to deal with paramilitary threats , building oil and gas police unit and having a unit to fight cyber-crimes and mobile telephone cases among others.
