After the acquittal of the two suspects of gang rape of a 23-year old girl, the Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze Bakireke has blamed the Directorate of Public Prosecution for poor preparations for this case
Nambooze said it is unfortunate that the victim Zaniabu Mbabazi did not get the justice she expected just because of the inadequacies within the office of the Directorate of public prosecution.
This comes after Buganda Road chief Magistrate Lillian Bucyana set free the two Pakistan nationals accused of gang raping Mbabazi.
Nambooze said that the problem is not with the magistrate that acquitted the suspects but rather the weakness on the part of the prosecution team.
She also called on the Women parliamentarians and activists to continue supporting Mbabazi to go through the unfortunate situation.
