Prime Minister Dr Rugunda assures Kabale on Municipal roads

The Prime Minister, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda has assured the people of Kabale that government has already signed the agreement for constructing contentious roads in the municipality, adding that construction works begin early in the New Year.
Kabale residents backed up by some local council officials recently took to the streets to demonstrate over the bad state of roads in the municipality, accusing the government of poor service delivery.
“The company constructing the road to Katuna (Reynolds Construction Company) will do the work, and the agreement has already been signed,” Dr Rugunda told a big congregation at St Peter’s Cathedral, Rugarama on Saturday.
He hailed young people who take bold steps to enter into holy matrimony, describing their move as a doze of confidence and actualisation. Holy matrimony is a Christian term for marriage.
“Your marriage is a shining example,” Dr Rugunda said during the wedding of Joshua Natukunda Bagamuhunda to Renae Twesigye Rutaba where he represented President Yoweri Museveni.
He asked the youth to tap into local human and natural resources for Kigezi region’s prosperity. He rubbished talk of divisionism there as mere temporary dust that whirls during a bumpy ride on a seasonal road, saying it would disappear shortly.
Area MPs Wilfred Nuwagaba (Ndorwa West), Andrew Baryayanga (Municipality), Ronah Ninsiima (District Woman) and Jack Sabiiti (Rukiga County), UPDF Engineering Brigade head Brig. Sabiiti Mutebile, former spy chief Brig. Henry Tumukunde, Bishops and other prominent people hailing from the region, attended the function.
“We in Kampala are working hard to ensure our communities prosper and the old divisions do not emerge because that is dust on the road which will disappear anytime,” the Prime Minister said.
Dr Rugunda announced the President’s donation of Shs 10m to help the newlyweds start their home. He and his wife, Jocelyn who accompanied him also made a family contribution of a heifer to the couple.
Joshua is an investment banker and son of Kigezi Diocese Bishop George Bagamuhunda, while Renae is a graduate of Business Administration and daughter of a Mityana-based businessman, Jafari Rutaba.
In his sermon Archbishop Stanley Ntagali who wed the couple, emphasized submission of spouses to each other in marriage, adding that heaven begins from their families which are the nucleus of society.
He castigated homosexuality, urging couples to repent their sins and save their marriages. He noted that happy marriages based on church doctrines were a source of national stability.
“Those who are saying a man can marry a man are changing God’s order,” he said, adding that a wonderful wife or husband was not from the internet but from the Lord God.
He called on couples to always create time for their spouses, challenging couples to keep official business out of their homes. He said family problems sometimes spill over to society.
“Some women want to marry rich men for property or good jobs but love in marriage is unconditional,” Archbishop Ntagali counselled. “Money or social status cannot buy love.”
The groom’s father, Bishop Bagamuhunda thanked all for the overwhelming support that propelled his family. He thanked his son for being “a good boy” and interlocutor in fellowship.
He welcomed his daughter-in-law, Renae into the family, saying love and godliness should continue being the order. He also gave the young couple a bible and a heifer, promising them any necessary support.
