UMA launches programme to expand internship opportunities for graduates

The Uganda Internship StudentManufacturers’ Association has launched a project that seeks to provide internship opportunities to University graduates in a move to equip them with skills.

The Internship Program targeting students mainly pursuing courses in Science and Technology will offer them an opportunity to have practical experience with various industries.

The Project running from 2015-2017, aims at improving the skills of graduates from the different institutions of higher learning by supervising them when placed in these industries.

The State Minister for Sports, Charles Bakabulindi, who was a guest at the launch of this program said the program will empower the youth with skills so that they can easily get jobs.  Companies today are only employing graduates with skills and he believes such internship opportunities will equip the fresh graduates with the requisite skills.
