The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has called on the National Identification Registration Authority to consider taking up the youths who have been working on the ID project. Kadaga says many youths were employed as enrolment and data processors for the IDs but since the project has closed, many have nowhere to go.

She further says the leadership must find a way of engaging them since they already have the required skills. Kadaga called on the Authority to ensure Ugandans who have not yet received their IDs are given.

The deputy speaker Jacob Oulanyah at the same event also received his national ID. Speaking at the same event the Minister of internal affairs PS Stephen Kagoda hailed the speaker and parliament for passing the National registration of persons Act which provided for creation of the Authority.
