Blood deficit in hospitals blamed on negative donation attitude

blood-bagUgandan negative attitude towards blood donation is cited as a factor contributing to scarcity of blood in blood banks. The blood donor recruiter with Nakasero blood Bank  Ariho Franco says most Ugandan do not want to donate blood even when they are asked to do so leaving the exercise to a few people causing a big blood deficit in hospitals.
Ariho notes that currently the country is facing more shortage and  calls for increased efforts towards donation to have the bank store with enough blood needed to give life to those that need it at that particular time. He urges religious leaders to always invite them to their respective places of worship to collect blood from the believers. However one of the pastors at triple blessing church Patrick Llubulwa says this is one of the reason they are having a crusade as a church to help give a life to those who need it through blood donation.
