Stop beating teachers, Education Committee Chairperson Galiwango advises parents

The Chairperson of the Education Committee, Connie Galiwango, has advised parents to speak to teachers if they have mishandled their children instead of resorting to beating them.

This comes after reports that the administration of Bilal Islamic school stopped Sheikh Noor Muzaata from teaching at the school after he beat up a teacher who had tried to discipline his child.

Ggaliwango during a committee meeting said that if parents resort to beating up teachers it will mean no teacher  will like to educate their children.

Ggaliwango  also advised teacher to resort to other means of punishing children instead of beating them.

The Mbale municipality Mp Jack Wamanga wamai said that its criminal for teachers to beat up students and they should desist from these practices.
