China urges Uganda to allocate more resources to agriculture

The Chinese government has asked government has asked policy makers in the country to ensure more resources are allocated to develop the agriculture sector.

The Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Zheng Zhugiang said, although government is focusing on developing the industrial sector, the agricultural sector must not be ignored.

He said the agriculture can provide employment and as wells as providing food for the increasing population and therefore much attention must be paid to this sector, because its impotence.

The Ambassador made the remarks while a giving out a donation of irrigation pumps and solar panels worth 30,000 US dollars to the operation wealth creation, to help farmers in the Eastern region, south western to help them in irrigating their crops.
