Jose Gimenez popped up with an 89th minute-winner for Uruguay as they narrowly beat Egypt 1-0 on Friday

Luis Suarez missed a golden chance to put Uruguay ahead after hitting the side-netting from a few yards out. Just moments in the second half, Egypt No 1 Mohamed Elshenawy saved brilliantly to deny Suarez again.

Gimenez jumped higher than his opposition to brilliantly head home into the corner of the net for the Uruguayans

Suarez then spurned another chance as he tried to dribble the ball past the keeper before running out of play. However, in the 89th minute, Jose Gimenez popped up with an emphatic winning header for Uruguay.
