Race for Deputy Speaker Is On

The race for the Deputy Speakership is not yet over as the Independent MP for Kampala Central Division Muhammad Nsereko will contest with  the Incumbent Deputy Speaker Jacob Oulanya as West Budama South MP-Elect Jacob Oboth  stands down for  Oulanyah.
Oboth was one of the three independents who are vying for the position in the 10th parliament.
Negotiations are going on between the Aspiring Deputy Speaker Ndorwa East MP Wilfred Niwagaba with Nsereko to leave one Independent Candidate to challenge  Jacob Oulanyah.
Buyaga West MP Barnabas Tinkasimire says that NRM caucus meeting ended in cannot decide for both the speaker  and deputy saying parliament should be given a chance also to vote for their favorite candidate.

In the meantime, West Budama South MP-Tororo District Markson Jacob Oboth has withdrawn from the race saying it’s not a practice of common wealth Practice to stand against the Incumbent Deputy Speaker of
parliament.
