CP warns on torturing suspects

The President of the Conservative Party (CP) John Ken Lukyamuzi has asked the central government to adapt new methods of getting information from suspects instead of torturing them in safe houses.

Lukyamuzi says there is no basis for using torture as a method of getting information from suspects. He was today addressing journalists at Speke Hotel in Kampala .

Lukyamuzi also urges the government to improve the observance of human rights in prisons, barracks and police cells.

The President of CP urges government to join other countries in the world like Sweden that are against torture.
