The Uganda Police force has released the 2010 annual crime and traffic report indicating a crime decline of 4%.
The report launched by the Inspector General of Police, Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura at the new Police headquarters in Naguru shows incidences under the key crime category of homicides, ritual murders, economic crimes and anti-narcotics.

Corruption related offences investigated registered the highest number of cases.
Kayihura says the year 2010 was a sad one for the law enforcement agencies in the country because it involved terrorism in Kampala which left over 78 people dead and 89 injured, as well as the catastrophic fire that gutted Kasubi tombs.
According to the director Criminal Investigations Department Edward Ochom, Police received 99,676 crimes last year, less than the 103,592 registered 2009.
He says Katwe registered the highest number of reported crimes standing at 5132 cases followed by Jinja with 5020 and CPS Kampala while Masaka had the least number of cases at 1970.
The report shows rape and domestic violence cases increased greatly, with most domestic violence cases also falling under assault.
