Court sentences five to death for murdering a Briton

The High court has condemned to death a woman after prosecution proved to court beyond reasonable doubt that she murdered her husband.

Justice Joseph Mulangira presided over the case in which Tushabe Constance alias Grace Kalungi was convicted of murdering her husband, John Allan Humphrey, a Briton with whom she used to stay in Kiwafu estate in Makindye division.

It is said the couple used to get misunderstandings in their marriage and Tushabe hired her boyfriend one Mohammed Kondolo to murder Humphrey.

Kondolo, in his charge and caution statement at Police, confessed that he hired 3 others including Bukenya Abdul, Nyago Saad, and Ismail Ssebandeke who helped him in carrying out the actual murder.

The four were equally sentenced to death for offense  they committed on the 9th of March 2009 at Kisugu central zone in Makindye Division Kampala district.
