The Bishops led by the ordinary of Kiyinda Mityana diocese say they are visiting the area because Andrew Kaggwa is the patron saint of the catechists.

They also reason that the pilgrimage is one of the many ways of preparing for the martyrs day.

Bishop John Baptist Kaggwa of Masaka diocese and the secretary general of the Uganda Episcopal Conference Msgr Kauta were among the clerics who made the pilgrimage.

Uganda will on the 3rd of June mark the martyrdom of the Uganda martyrs who were killed between 1885 and 1887 on the orders of King Mwanga II for their resilience in faith.
