Gender minister condemns acts of violence against women in uganda

OKURUT CONDEMNS ACTS OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

 

 

 

The Minister for Gender Karoro Okurut has condemned acts of violence against women.

This as she visited Mbabazi Zainab a 23 year old Woman who was allegedly kidnapped, Gang raped and sodomised by Pakistanis said to be staff of YUASA motors Nakawa while working as a house help in their home.

Upon seeing Zainabu who has been admitted at Mulago hospital with acute pain in both her private areas since Friday, Minister Karoro Okurut has exclaimed at the condition in which Zainab is in and condemned such violence against women.
Minister Karoro has urged the public to rise up and fight against such crimes against women.

Meantime, Action Aid Uganda has offered Zainabu Mbabazi a temporary shelter in one of their homes in Uganda where she can base to chase up for treatment and also follow her case.

This after Mbabazi made a public appeal for help that her life is in danger and that she is receiving a lot of threats at times anonymous calls from people threatening to shoot her.


Samanya Rahma the head of communication at Action Aid Uganda as also condemned the act against Mbabazi Zainabu.
