Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs Jack Wamai Wamaga is considering moving a motion on the floor of Parliament to scrap Ministry of East African Affairs saying its redundant and wasting Tax payer’s money.
Wamai while before Public Accounts Committee with officials from Ministry Of East African Affairs, who had appeared to respond to Auditor Generals Queries of 2011/12, said the Ministry should be scraped and be relocated to foreign Affairs as a department.
He said the Ministry serves no purpose apart from creating Jobs to some individuals which he said has a cost implication on the Tax payer’s money.
Wamai also noted that Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a fully fledged department in charge of five states which he said it’s capable of handling matters concerning Community affairs than having a full Ministry which does not have what to do.
