Government has rescued of Park yard market vendors with UGX.1Bn to help them in the rehabilitation of their burnt market as well as be used as entandikwa but vendors are this time round wanting this money be used to buy them metallic material to be used in constructing the market.

Speaking to miserable traders at the burnt market, the defense and security ministers, Mululi Mukasa and Chrispus Kiyonga urged the traders not to loose hope despite the burning and assured them that the president is ready to meet with their leaders to find a lasting solution to this problem.Cue.Govt.Lug.

The IGP in a special meeting with leaders of the traders, urged them to put this money to good use but also set up better security measures but also to stay calm as he directed them to get back to business tomorrow as they prepare and wait for money.

The traders’ chairman Everest Kayongo among other leaders are strongly demanding for metallic material from govt to help in the reconstruction of the market though they were not relaxed to ask for immediate clearing of the areas for them start work soon.

But the head of fire, Mugisa in a report to the IGP about the fire, says, the fire started at 4am and calls for investigation into the reason behind the night fire outbreak in this market at this particular hour.
