CID boss to probe more into pro mbabazi youth arrest

The director CID Grace Akullo has said that more investigations against a group of NRM youths who were allegedly collecting signatures while giving out bribes are still ongoing.
Akullo realed this while appearing before the parliamentary committee on Defence and internal Affairs .
She said that the recent arrest and prosecution of two NRM youths loyal to Premier Amama Mbabazi who include Adam Buyinza and Omodo Omodo came after a tip off from vigilantes in Rubaga and other areas.

She said that upon getting this information a general inquiry was opened and evidence came up which was forwarded to the DPP.

Akullo said that it was the DPP who acted basing on on their evidence and information and sanctioned a case file to have these youths charged for abuse of office and bribery in the anti-corruption court.
She however, said that further investigations are still ongoing into the matter.

Her statement came after MPs on the defense and internal affairs committee chaired by Beny Bugembe demanded to know why police was arresting these pro-Mbabazi youths on account of their political thinking but Akullo said there is no harassment against anyone which is being done.
The NRM caucus recently passed a resolution endorsing Museveni as its sole candidate for 2016 the pro-Mbabazi youths started gathering signatures to summon a delegates’ conference to undo it.
