Nytil faces closure

Buikwe woman mp Mpima Dorothy has appealed to Government to wave 25 %
of VAT on Nytil picfare limited to save the company from closing
down.

The area mp made the appeal during a press conference at parliament,
where she said that many Ugandans are likely to lose their jobs, if
Government fails to give a tax holiday to the textile industry to
enable it grow.

The mp says that the company needs a concession of about 3 to 5 years
to enable it remains in operation rather than lay off the workers or
closing down operations.
Mpima asks Government to intervene so that the company remains
in operation rather than laying off many Ugandans .

The company directs employees about 2500 people. One of the
Uganda’s biggest textile mill will be the second one to close down in
few months following ssembule Uganda limited which was sold off this
year.
