Nigerian experts in uganda warned against criminal activities

Nigerian High Commissioner to Uganda H. E Oluwateru has warned
visiting Nigerian technical experts against shaming his country by
engaging in criminal activities while in Uganda.

He was addressing visiting Nigerian technical experts/lectures that
have come to Uganda to train Ugandan students in various technical
fields for two years.
The voluntary lecturers shall be posted to various varsities including
that of Islamic university in Uganda [IUIU].

The ambassador said both Uganda and Nigeria enjoy cordial relations
which need to be observed and upheld by everyone.
He commended the excellent bilateral relations between Uganda and
Nigeria which dates back to 1962 and has continued to blossom over the
years.
He says both countries hold similar views on major political, economic
and social issues of international concern and are both members of AU,
Common wealth and UN among others which further reinforces our ties.
He says these cordial relations have been reciprocated by high profile
visits between top political, economic and religious leadership of
both countries in addition to facilitating movements of people to and
fro both countries for trade, investment and religious purposes.
He said that Uganda hosts several Nigerian banks including the UBA,
Eco Bank, Global Trust bank, Orient Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank and NIC
on top of several Nigerian churches in Uganda, adding that over the
past two years, several Nigerian students have been admitted in many
Ugandan universities.
He therefore challenged the visitors abide and respect the laws of
host country, which should guide their activities by desisting from
actions and activities that will tarnish the image of their country.
He asked them to be diligent, avoid absenteeism and also exercise his
degree of professionalism.
