Prof. Gilbert Bukenya is a man who puts on many hats. Some people know him as the MP for Busiro North in Uganda’s 9th parliament, as a medical doctor, professor of medicine, politician, businessman, investor, business tycoon, mahogany and others know him as the former Vice President of Uganda and Uganda’s presidential candidate to be (2016).
One day he (Bukenya) is full of praises for his former boss president Museveni, whom he calls a good listener, the next moment he calls him (Museveni) a dictator who must be remoed from Power.
At one stage Bukenya calls on the opposition in Uganda to front him as their sole presidential candidate against incumbent Museveni, but he stays put in Museveni’s NRM political organisation which he represents in parliament.
The former Vice President now says he will never represent opposition. He denies receiving any mony from government, a few hours later he tells journalists at parliament that he has been getting only 4 milion Uganda shillings monthly payment from government, then he ‘shouts’ that he does not need government Money and that he is rich enough…
